QUIZ: Are You In Love With Your Job?
While some people frown upon having two relationships at the same time, we think that it’s ideal… as long as one of them is with your job! You might think that it sounds ridiculous, but the best way to have a successful career and achieve your potential is to simply love your job!
It’s not easy, you know. Of course, at first you feel the butterflies and you’re excited about the little things – your desk, your shiny new business cards, your colleagues. You then go through a couple of rough patches, but you start loving it even more. You push through the deadlines and long hours and make it work! If you think about it, maintaining a healthy relationship with your job can actually be more work (no pun intended) than with a romantic partner.
But what do you do if you’re not sure if you love your job, never did or have fallen out of love with it? How can you tell – there are no magazine that have quizzes that tell you how much you love your job (are there?). - I always feel like I would rather take on a challenge rather than doing the same tasks every day, with no extra-responsibilities.
You’d better get out of that destructive relationship before it eats all your enthusiasm away! It’s easy to fall into an unhealthy routine and just not realise that you’re professionally unhappy. But this doesn’t mean that you can’t look for something else, something that helps you achieve your potential. The right job for you might be just around the corner!
There’s still room for improvement. There’s a spark there, but the fire isn’t quite burning yet. Relationships are hard and you constantly have to do more to make it work. What you should try is taking on some new responsibilities and see what happens from there. You might find out that you weren’t finding your job challenging enough and you were feeling slightly bored. Or you might find that you’re not quite right for it and that it’s better to look for something else.
This is your dream job. You love it and want to marry it. You wake up eager to start working and it almost never feels boring. It’s the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last when you go to bed. Not in a creepy way, but in the best way possible – you’re so passionate about it that you want to be better every day. Even when you’re feeling a bit gloomy, concentrating on your work lightens your mood. Treasure this feeling, you’re one of the lucky ones!
